Marshall Football Story.

Here is my Marshall Football Story,
i attempted to DVR it yesterday, but my crappy DVR recorded it but only the first 3 minutes, the rest is all black, and white noise, so i paid 10 bucks to listen to it on all access on HerdZone.CSTV.com, quite boring without any video by the way :)

well here it is:

It was a happy homecoming for the pirates of East Carolina University Saturday, with a crowd of 50,145 (the 2nd largest in school history) quarter back Dominique Davis threw for 208 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 37-10 win against the Marshall Thundering Herd (1-6, 0-3 CUSA).
Davis went 23-39 for the pirates(5-2,4-0 CUSA), Lance Lewis Caught for 55 yards and a touchdown on 6 catches, and Jonathan Williams ran for 111 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.
Brian Anderson went 27-47, with 217 yards, a touchdown, and 3 interceptions. Troy Evans had 6 catches for 50 yards, and the only Herd touchdown.
The Pirates got off to a slow start, playing a Marshall defense that using the dime formation held a high octane offense that averages 422 yards a game to just 167 yards in the first half, they were however able to score 3 times in the first half, 2 scores coming within the last 2 ½ minutes both coming Anderson interceptions that resulted in a 29 yard touchdown run by Williams, and a 40 yard field for by Barbour.
Marshall embarked on their only scoring drive of the game at the 8:56 mark of the second quarter, when Troy Evans caught a 9 yard pass from Anderson.
The pirates went into the locker room at the half with a 20-10 cushion on the thundering herd.  With the pirates offense scoring their first 3 times on the field of the second half, and the herd held scoreless the rest of the game, the pirates coasted into a victory against a thundering herd squad whose only win this year was against former MAC foes, Ohio University.
Both teams will resume league play next week, Marshalls homecoming game against UTEP is slated for 3:00pm, while the ECU pirates venture to Florida where they will take on UCF at 3:30 pm.

Big Brothers Big Sisters

Sorry this is a little late!, i have been battling the flu all weekend! :(
I have been corresponding with the Executive director for big brothers big sisters and plan on meeting with her tomorrow, i am very excited about this, as i feel strongly about the organization and may just come out of the meeting with a little of my own!
While having been involved with this organization for 2 years in high school; i gained alot of information and perspective about just what it is that they do for the children that are a member of this program, and i can say they honestly do change lives, so i am looking forward to learning what big brothers big sisters of the tri state has to offer!

we are supposed to come up with 5 questions that we are planning to ask our interviewee and here are mine!
-Is there one partcular case or happening that sticks out in your mind that has been influential to you or struck a chord with you more than others?
-Where did your grow up, and get your undergrad? what do you have a degree in?
-What propelled you to get into this non profit? is this your first job with a non profit?
-your website say's almost everyone that works here are volunteers and even though they arent paid do u feel they gain some other benefits from spending their time here?, how do you guys get funding? do you have any corporate partnerships?
-how do you match volunteers with clients? is there a formal matching process they go through or is it more of a random act?
I have plenty more that  I plan on asking, these are just my lead in questions.

the 3 documents i am going to ask for at the end of my interview are:
*their last 3 tax returns
*their IRS tax exempt letter
*copy of any audits they have gotten

I am very excited for this assigment! and i will keep you posted on my findings!!
